I appears like more people are taking menswear more seriously this year at Pitti Uomo 93. And by “more seriously”, we obviously mean that we’ve been seeing many more “Styleforum Approved” outfits than usual.
If you’re in Florence, don’t forget to stop by the Styleforum Maker Space – we are showcasing great artisans and having lots of fun eating mozzarella di bufala and Tuscan salumi!

Get off yo’ phone! Great style, but a lot of them are on their phone.
And if they’re not on the phone, they’re smoking cigars and cigarettes :/
The funny thing is, I’m pretty sure none of them actually talking to anyone on the other end of their phone, they’re just hoping someone sees them “nonchalantly” taking a call so they can have their photo taken. Using your phone forces you to stay in one spot long enough so you can be captured on film, and the use of a phone prop gives the illusion that you’re too preoccupied to notice.
Thatโs what I do. In fact itโs not even an iphone; itโs a pack of Marlboro Edge. Iโm typing from it now.
Sometimes both phone and smoking. These are the classic props of Pitti.
I honestly thought we’d see more vapes this time around, I guess they’re not fashionable enough. Nobody looks cool talking on the phone while sucking on a plastic juiceboxes.
I guess it’s conceivable that some of them are actually conducting business on their phones. Pitti is a trade fair, after all.
In my experience, most of the people are texting. That’s how our team coordinates. It’s nearly impossible to find each other or coordinate social events otherwise. Pitti is really, really, big,. It’s probably, all told, about 5-6 large convention floors, but in a very complicated structure with a lot of additional stand alone booths.
As usual most of the kit belongs in the Freddie Flowerdew department but some nice texture mixing and tailoring details.
